Netoptions:description:first and foremost i'd like to point out a few important details about this vehicle. This particular hudson was the second to last off of the assembly line, it has the rare real 7x motor with the special head and cams, it was professionally restored (completely) in the 90's, the paint is not the original color (original was a lighter blue) and the top was also replaced with one that is slightly darker and with glass. This car also has upgraded options. It has a/c air conditioning, it has power steering (parts were acquired off of another '54.) and lastly, the front brakes have been upgraded with disc brakes for safety. This particular car was part of a private hudson collection, and has always been garaged. This car was originally acquired in the south, it has only been in ny state for a short period of time. There is no rust no body issues description: this car has the 7x motor, it has special internals, bolts, head and cam as per engine specs. It is the 210bph motor and is original to this car. It was rebuilt in the 90's along with the restoration of the vehicle. The car has exactly 4,306 miles since its' rebuild. This is an old vehicle and as such does leak a little fluid when it is not utilized. The engine has been recently tuned (both carbs and linkages adjusted, plugs, oils etc). The transmission is a hydro-matic 3 speed with the 4th overdrive, it shifts well and does require tuning from time it time, it drives like a semi-automatic should. The rear end and drive train are in excellent shape, the car runs very well its smooth and cruises on the highway with no difficulty. This hudson has power windows, power convertible top, power steering and power brakes (all work well). The brakes have been converted to disc brakes mainly for safety, and an air conditioning unit has been installed. The radio is original and has also been adapted to work with fm. The stereo system of the car has been upgraded and there are speakers under the seats and hidden in the rear on the car to maintain originality. The speedometer works well, the only gauge that isn't working is the temperature gauge so an aftermarket gauge displays temperature (see picture) gas gauges, speed gauges, and other gauges all work well. Blower motor and temperature functions all work well. All of the rubber seals and weather stripping are excellent. The body of this car is one excellent shape. There are only 3 total scratches on this car. There is one on the passenger door (see picture) and one on the bottom of the drivers' door along with the rocker panel (under drivers' door). The chrome is in perfect condition with no damage anywhere. Everything was re-chromed and its all in 100% condition. I have taken pictures of any damage (if any) anywhere on the vehicle. All of the electronics and lights work well, there are no issues with paint or any body issues, this car is 100% metal and was professionally frame off restored and painted in the 90's. The color is now navy blue the interior color is original. The original color of this car is a light blue color (almost teal) and the top was lighter as well. This top has glass and is in perfect condition with no damage tears or wear at any place. The cars undercarriage is in perfect shape, there is no rust or issues anywhere, the panels, the floors, the frame or any place underneath. The tires are in new condition (white wall) the inner trunk floors and panels are solid, no rust anywhere. The engine is healthy and runs excellent, it starts almost immediately, it has been tuned (twin carbs twin h motor). All of the fluids have been replaced and the car has been inspected for the sale. Netoptions:description:1950 hudson pacemaker deluxe brougham history the hudson motor car company was known for producing durable, well engineered but conservatively styled automobiles. That reputation was to be forever changed on december 7th, 1947 when hudson introduced their new 1948 models in nationwide showings. Banners proclaimed “this time it’s hudson”. The cars won instant acclaim from the public. Production had actually begun on october 12th. The tremendous factory conversion effort took only 23 days. Hudson spent $16,000,000 for development and new production equipment. The new car was revolutionary in that virtually no parts interchanged with the 1947 models, except the eight cylinder engine, which was essentially the same. The car had the lowest center of gravity and the lowest roofline of any american car without sacrificing headroom, due to the floorpans being attached to the bottom of the frame members instead of the top as all previous american cars had been. While the 1941 nash 600 had been the first production unibody car, the new hudson was significantly more rugged in construction and offered a sleek new design that was way ahead of the competition. The new body design was termed “monobilt” because the body structure was of welded all steel construction. The cars were available in super and commodore trim levels with either a six or eight cylinder engine. In the fall of 1949 hudson introduced a new lower priced line of cars, the new 1950 pacemaker. It was offered in the standard or deluxe series. The current mileage is 85,983. The mileage is listed as actual on the indiana title. It has been driven about 6,000 miles in the last 11 years. It is equipped with a radio, heater, aftermarket directional signals, ventshades, oil bath air cleaner, seat covers, foglights, reproduction goodyear super cushion whitewall tires including the spare and beauty rings. It really is pretty deluxe! It has standard shift without overdrive and a 4 1/9 rear axle. It runs and drives nicely and has a cruising speed of 60 mph. The engine is smooth and quiet, the clutch is smooth and the gearboxes are silent. All of the lights and gauges work. When i got the car in 2004, i did a complete brake, wheel seal and bearing job and a conversion to dot5 silicone brake fluid. The brakes still work perfectly including the parking brake! I also installed a fresh fuel tank and cleaned the oilpan. At that time i polished and installed a correct nos steering wheel that is still perfect! The radio plays, the heater produces nice heat and the vacuum wipers work. This car has no rust. The paint is over 40 years old and there are no bubbles. The old lacquer paint is still very shiny. There are a few touchups. All of the chrome, emblems and glass are very nice to excellent and much of it is original! The accessory seat covers appear to have been on since new. The balance of the original interior is nice, although there are a few stains on the headliner. The original rubber floormats are perfect! The defects on this car are few. There is a single rockchip in the drivers side windshield. The windup clock is inop. The temperature gauge indicates higher than the actual temp, which is typical of the 48-50 hudsons. This is a smooth, whisper quiet, matching number, good running 232. It is currently licensed, insured and on the road.
