However, what makes it amazing, no power steering, is the reason i am forced to sell it. My doctor has diagnosed me with torn ligaments in my bicep and shoulder and as a result, i’m forced to part with my favorite car in the whole world. The second reason is that i passed 65 and it's getting more and more inconvenient to get in and out and the ride is a noisier and shaky then i would prefer now. Of the additional miles that i added 70% were on highways, 20% on the track, and 10% on the streets. I stopped tracking it for 2 years now, and almost stop driving since the injury progressing, so the suspension and wheel alignment tuned to perfect street driving. The car has had no incidents at the racetracks or anywhere else, but unfortunately, a few years ago while driving on the street an old mack truck did not see that i was in front of it on a red light and started to creep towards the light. Because the entire car is fiberglass and the truck had guard rails, even though it was an accident at about 3-5mph there was damage to the fiberglass to the left rear which is visible in the photos. There was absolutely no damage to anything structural, as it was purely a cosmetic issue, which is why i decided to not get it fixed. If u want to repair it, that's not a problem. The fibertech fixes the cracks and scuffs - heavy material that is a mix of fiberglass and kevlar - but very strong. "there are many benefits to using the fibertech brand of fiberglass reinforced polyester (frp) and fiberglass reinforced concrete (gfrc) by wilson composites, llc. The car is super reliable, i'm not a poor man and never save money on cars, especially track cars of which i have had many. The safety driving on streets and especially on track is the most important issue and for that the machinery must be kept absolutely healthy and money was spent without limits keep the cars in best shapes. The very positive side of the lotus is that parts are relatively inexpensive because it's a small car and easily endure the pressure since it's a light car and was designed for track use more than for street use. The car has some cosmetic wear and tear as any car with mileage. The official name of the color is canyon red. The sum of doors number 939 totals 21 - blackjack game winning number. It is in excellent condition and after a recent major service, is ready for months of carefree, summer driving. It comes with air conditioning, which generally won't be needed when either the removable hard top or the soft top (also comes with the car) are removed. The exterior is very clean and has only one or two minor rock chips. There is a clear protective film covering the nose of the car for additional protection. The major service was done last year and the car has been driven very little since (i drive it a couple of miles once every month or so to keep the battery changed and to keep the all mechanicals in good shape). Here is what was done during the service: new front rotors and pads brake fluid system flush engine oil change gearbox oil change coolant system flush clutch fluid change underside panels all removed and inspection of all fasteners/bolts etc. Completed sector 111 toe link kit installed (stronger than stock and a safety upgrade) new rear tires new green air filter extras: forged light weight wheels spa oil pressure/temp gauge as well as intake air temp and vacuum gauge in aluminium mount sector 111 engine mount quicksilver stainless muffler infinity speakers seatbelt lock factory leather interior door sill pockets the only item i never got around to was repairing a scratch on the steering wheel (pictured). Therefore, it's ready to be driven so needs to go to a new home and be used during the summer - it wasn't built by lotus to be one of the best handling cars of its era, so it could just sit in my garage. This is getting to be a very rare car, in fact in 1999 to 2001 there were only 204 of them manufactured, and only 60 from 2001 with the round tail lights. This is no normal lotus esprit... This esprit has been rebuilt with racing components to a level at which is truly breathtaking. The owner wanted it fast. The engine has been rebuilt once with forged pistons, large 100cc racing injectors and upgraded turbos all at a cost of more than $25000. But it was not fast enough. Then it was rebuilt again, 800 miles later, with even more upgrades, including aps head bolts, upgraded cams for more low end torque, upgraded ems, ecu and more powerful fuel pump. Since the second rebuild (less than 100 miles ago), the owner has suffered an injury from a car accident and can no longer drive a 5 speed manual vehicle so sadly this must go. This lotus esprit makes more than 550 bhp at the rear wheels. With a curb weight of 3000 pounds that means this car is a ferrari, lamborghini and z06 killer in the 0-60, 0-100 and on any race track. This lotus esprit has a rear camera to make it easy to reverse, the radio has a remote control, navigation system and hard drive for mp3 and video files. The interior is in good shape and features led lighting, with led projectors under each door with the lotus logo. It is in excellent condition and after a recent major service, is ready for months of carefree, summer driving. It comes with air conditioning, which generally won't be needed when either the removable hard top or the soft top (also comes with the car) are removed. The exterior is very clean and has only one or two minor rock chips. There is a clear protective film covering the nose of the car for additional protection. The major service was done last year and the car has been driven very little since (i drive it a couple of miles once every month or so to keep the battery changed and to keep the all mechanicals in good shape). Here is what was done during the service: new front rotors and pads brake fluid system flush engine oil change gearbox oil change coolant system flush clutch fluid change underside panels all removed and inspection of all fasteners/bolts etc. Completed sector 111 toe link kit installed (stronger than stock and a safety upgrade) new rear tires new green air filter extras: forged light weight wheels spa oil pressure/temp gauge as well as intake air temp and vacuum gauge in aluminium mount sector 111 engine mount quicksilver stainless muffler infinity speakers seatbelt lock factory leather interior door sill pockets the only item i never got around to was repairing a scratch on the steering wheel (pictured). Therefore, it's ready to be driven so needs to go to a new home and be used during the summer - it wasn't built by lotus to be one of the best handling cars of its era, so it could just sit in my garage.
